It kind of depends on the parents. Some parents are okay with candy or treats on special occasions, and other are not. You can get small heart shaped boxes of chocolates that only have four chocolates in them. It is a small treat, but they are cute. Stuffed toys are also a traditional Valentine's gift. If you want to go non-traditional, I have never met a six year old that does not love sidewalk chalk. You can buy really big boxes for under $10.
That's a good question! It depends on the guy, though. Don't go overboard, wait for his birthday, or December holidays. Also, depends on the relationship... Something under $10... How about candy, a teddy bear, or gift card? Some guys are picky or weird about gifts, but don't stress yourself out, it's only 6th grade! ;)
Food, gift cards, money, stuff like that. Don't get yourself something (ie underwear) and say it's for him.
