Next time, add some more detail to your question, but FIRST, check your tranny fluid level. When the Transmission Fluid level is low, your vehicle will start to act REAL funky and make weird noises and your question may hint at low fluid level. If it's not that, take a close look at what the fluid looks like and smells like. And then schedule for an appointment with a trusted mechanic to check out your transmission looked at. Maybe, you just need band adjustment or fluid replaced because it's old fluid and worn out.

What would cause the transmissions of my 1997 Bonneville to whine?

ok im not a 100% sure on this, but check your power steering fluid. on newer vihicles the power steering actually has something that affects the transmission. it could eventually cause it to go in to what is called a "lope mode". and i will pretty much just stay in second gear and wont shift out. Is your Bonneville supercharged? If the supercharger is going out it will also whine.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee radio sounds like it has static in it when motor is running but fine when motor is not running what could cause this?

If this is a whine that changes pitch with the rpm's of the motor, it is normally causee by your ignition system. If it's an aftermarket system that you put in the best way to cure it is to re-run either your rca's or your power wire so they are on separate sides of te vehicle. The whine is caused by interferance from the power wire affecting the signals on the rca's. If rewiring isn't an optoin or it isn't an aftermarket system, you can go to any stereo shop and they will sell you a filter that will solve this. Hope this helps.
