William Henry Harrison and John Tyler received 234 electoral votes. Martin Van Buren and his vice president running mate received 60 electoral votes. The popular vote totals were Harrison/Tyler 1,275,390 and Van Buren 1,128,854. Tyler ascended to the presidency after Harrison's death in April 1841.
