I have been researching this for years and have had only a little bit of luck. Here is what I do know. Jim Bishop who wrote THE DAY Lincoln WAS SHOT, reports a cool evening with clouds and stars in the sky. It was a beautiful afternoon in the hours before the assassination.

Bishop incorrectly reports a full moon rising but in reality it was nearly full. A gibbous moon to be exact. At the time of the shooting (10:13PM) the moon was very low in the East.

Nearly everyone agrees that when Lincoln died at 7:20am the next morning, a steady and cold rain was falling. Being a meteorologist, I can tell you that it was very likely that there were low clouds and some high clouds increasing across the sky through the evening. Most likely the temperature was in the 50's.

It was a sunny day that day in November in Dallas, Texas. John F. Kennedy and Jackie his wife were in a convertible limousine, riding through the streets of Dallas.
