In 1978 I was in high school, and a single can at the (over priced) corner store across the street was 25 cents.
I used to get a non-returnable 16oz (glass) bottle of Pepsi and a big bag of Doritos nacho cheese corn chips for 85 cents.

Coke cans aren't sold individually, only in pop machines, then the price is regulated by the vendor. The longstanding price for a can of coke has been 85 cents, the cheapest I've seen has been 65 cents.
Coke that has been poured into a glass will freeze faster than coke that is in an unopened can. Pressure of the can will prevent it from freezing.
