There are SIXTEEN watertight compartments on the titanic
There where 16 watertight compartments on the Titanic. But when they hit the ice berg it flooded 6 of them. The compartments were labeled A, B, K, L, M, N, O, and P.
I think there were like 7 or 9 about. I am not quite sure though.
5, which was one too many. If 4 were breached, then the Titanic would still have stayed afloat. She was designed that way, hence the name "the unsinkable ship."
The Titanic had 16 watertight chambers.
16 compartments only 4 can be filled
11 watertight compartments
seven
6 watertight compartments
All modern cruise ships have watertight compartments. However, that does not make them "unsinkable." If the hole put in the side of the ship is large enough, it can affect multiple compartments. Look into the Costa Concordia disaster for more information.
The Titanic possessed 15 bulkheads, which divided the ship into 16 watertight compartments. The Titanic was designed to still stay afloat even if 4 compartments were breached, but upon impact 5 of them were breached, and eventually they all flooded as the ship sank.
5 compartments were ruptered by the iceberg, which is one more that the Titanic could stand
Yes, or they would not really call them that. The Titanic sank because about 6 were damaged, and that made it hard for the Titanic to hold up tons of water, so it sank. BTW, there were about 16 water tight rooms on the Titanic. Oh... and could somebody answer all the unanswered questions?
6 watertight compartments
It did
The Titanic was thought to be unsinkable because of the nine watertight compartments

5 watertight compartments. She could stay a flote for 4 but not 5. Hope it helps

never seen on any other ocean liner at that time, the titanic`s watertight bulkheads and watertight compartments were the newest technology in the 19 century
The main structure, the watertight compartments, and the 3 million rivets used
16 watertight compartments divided by 15 bulkheads that went from the bottom of the ship up to E-Deck
The reason why Titanic was deemed as unsinkable was that it was built to stay afloat with 4 watertight compartments breached, but when the Titanic hit the iceberg, 5 compartments were breached, which was one too many
it would have had many other people on it the just the men
The Titanic was named The Unsinkable Ship because it was designed to stay afloat if a maximum of four watertight compartments were breached. But when the ship hit the iceberg, five compartments were breached
