I have seen this question for a while. The problem with the question is that it surmises someone did stop him. In reality no one stopped him even though there were over 40 attempts on his life and some high level Nazis did try to stop him many different times. Hitler was not really stopped until the Russians were within a mile of the bunker. He killed himself at that time.
One stop was 'The Battle of Britain' when every attempt by the Luftwaffe to bring Britain to its knees was beaten off by the RAF over the south-east. Giving up on attempting to cross the English Channel and invade Britain, Hitler next turned to the East. As Napoleon discovered some time earlier in history, invading the vastness of Russia, and the Russian winter weather, was not to be taken lightly - or likely to end in a victory.
So, eventually, Hitler's belief that he, and he alone, was better than his generals, often caused him to over-ride his general's experience of warfare.
In a way, some historians feel that Hitler, in over-riding his generals and taking total control, was our best aid in eventually winning the European war.
