It was an organization led by the United States, with help from Canada and Great Britain. It started after the United States learned of Germany's wanting of nuclear weapons. It started as a small program, but led to around 130,000 people with more than thirty sites. The project developed two atomic bombs during the war. named Little Boy and Fat Man. The project was also gathering intelligence on Germany's nuclear plans. Some of the Manhattan Project personnel also served in Germany gathering plans.
