The narrator became obsessed with the large eye of his landlord. He described it as like a vulture's eye and could not get it out of his mind. He eventually decided the only way to rid himself of this obsession was to kill the old man.

His land-lords dead eye.
Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart shows a person overcome by guilt. The narrator is haunted by the sound of the heart no longer beating by his hand and feels better after he reveals to the police the cut up body of his victim.
Initially, it was the victim's eye; by the conclusion of the story, it was the (imagined) beating of his dead heart.

It is the beating of the heart of the man that he killed and placed under his floorboards which ticks at his sanity and guilt.

What feelings and associations does the narrator connect to the eye in The Tell-Tale Heart?

The feeling and associations that the narrator of The Tell Tale Heart displays are evil, mistrust, poison, fear, disdain, and hatred; which he displays by explaining it to be vulture like, being covered by an eerie veil, claiming it taunted him, and the way it vexed him always. (Note: I did not quote these things from the tale exactly but this is a general feel of what Poe associates the old man's eye with.)

Why did the narrator kill the old man on the eighth night from the story The Tell-Tale Heart?

The old man's eyes were closed 7 days before. The narrator wanted the old man's eyes to be opened when he killed him. The old man's eyes were opened on the 8th day when he was doing a nightly ritual."And this I did for seven long nights-every night just at midnight-but I found the eye always closed; and so it was impossible to do the work; for it was not the old man who vexed me, but his Evil Eye."

What event happened that made people think the Articles of Confederation needed to be changed?

The US did not have an actual national government under the Articles, which retained the sovereignty of the states and required them to cooperate in practically every aspect. This was always difficult and sometimes impossible. There was no executive except the President of Congress, no standing military, and no unified system of courts. The framers decided that the nation needed a stronger unifying force, and the weaknesses of the Articles had already vexed them for more than 7 years.

When was Things Fall Apart written?

Things Fall Apart was written to describe Nigerian culture and the effects of European colonization upon it. It was also a response to the Western beliefs that the Africans were uncivilized and barbaric.Achebe got most of his view from his own culture through the writing of Europeans. At first he related to the European writings, but as time went on, he felt they were poor caricatures and stereotypes of the actual people, and he tried to show this through his writing.1- Joyce Cary's Mister Johnson, seen as a racist writing2- The consequences of the European Colonization.3- 'Things Fall Apart' was also said to be inspired / as a response to Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness'.The title comes from the poem "The Second Coming" by William Butler Yeats which is about the demise of a society by colonisation:THE SECOND COMINGTurning and turning in the widening gyreThe falcon cannot hear the falconer;Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhereThe ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worstAre full of passionate intensity.Surely some revelation is at hand;Surely the Second Coming is at hand. The Second Coming! Hardly are those words outWhen a vast image out of Spiritus MundiTroubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;A shape with lion body and the head of a man,A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,Is moving its slow thighs, while all about itWind shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again but now I knowThat twenty centuries of stony sleepWere vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?He wrote Things Fall Apart to give an example of man's inhumanity against man.
