Similar sized goldfish and their variants (golden orfe, etc) should be okay as should other carp species and tench. Just make sure all the fish are getting their share of food and there are no major size differences. Sturgeon are often kept alongside koi at retailers so I would imagine they are fine, too.
Yes, they are both coldwater fish, ad related species. They need a min. of 20 gal. ea. to grow to full size and live a normal life span of upwards of 25 years. If not given enough space, they will die after a year or so. The fancy finned goldfish are mutant and not found in the wild, as a consequence they are less hardy and need warmer temperature waters, so I wouldn't put them with koi.
Any cold water species that will not be small enough for the goldfish to eat. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of those, so the best thing to mix with goldfish is more goldfish, if you have enough space. There are many different kinds of goldfish you can mix with each other.
Well you can't add tropical fish because they like warm water. You can add it with a Fantail goldfish they are very friendly fish by the way you can't add them with a betta fish (a goldfish) they'll kill it for sure you can mostly put it with other goldfish.
Koi can be kept with Goldfish and other coldwater species in an aquarium. However, Koi get very large and should be kept only in very large aquariums. You should not house Koi with tropicals.
Most any aggressive larger fish will kill it.
Due to the areas that typically house koi, the only predator that would typically eat them would be large birds, or animals
mostly minows
The "Comet" is a variety of Goldfish that has a long, single tail.
Many other larger fish and many species of bird eat goldfish.
no. i have had two big comet goldfish with my, little 2 inch fish, and they never ate him.
Goldfish are opportunistic omnivores and will eat whatever they can. This may include a much smaller fish or a deceased fish.
They eat goldfish food, the best place to get it is petsmart.they only eat goldfish food!( its unhealthy for a fish to eat other foods for there diet!)hope it helps!
If by "comet fish" you mean a comet goldfish, you should not put anything in with it unless you get a much larger tank. A comet goldfish can grow six inches or longer, and will need a larger tank. Any tankmates should be cold water fish, like the goldfish. Snails will also get along well with the fish, but might get eaten. If it is a marine comet fish, it will grow up to seven inches, and will also need a larger tank.
The fish must look relativity similar to get along in SOME cases. I suggest not mixing fish but if you must, orange/white fantails and veil tails can mix.
Assuming you are talking about comet goldfish, the fish should live for a few decades under proper care.
Almost all goldfish can get along! i would recommend a ryukin, black moor, ranchu, fan tail if your looking for a goldfish, but for other lil critters, maybe a freshwater snail, or minnows (you can find those at a local creek) or a freshwater frog, Just make sure you have a lid and a place for the frog to take a break and hop out of the water. Comet goldfish are very fast and somewhat aggressive. Fancy goldfish should not be housed with comets because fancy goldfish's unique features/bodies often prevent them from being able to compete for food. A good tank mate other than another comet would be a shubunkin or a wakin because these fish are built similarly to the comet and can compete for food. As for a community- goldfish really should only be housed with other goldfish.
If it is goldfish: 7 can fit. if it is mos other fish (besides koi) you can fit 14
I have never heard of a "Pond Rocket Goldfish" and I can find no listing for such an animal in any fish reference book. That fact suggests to me that someone has made up name for a fish they didn't know how to identify. If the fish is a basic goldfish shape and has a tail that is very long (about half to one body length) it is probably a "Comet"
Comet goldfish- they're the most common because they're "feeder fish." Comets also get most deceases.
