When a bee stings, it leaves behind the sting, the venom sac and the muscles to pump venom. After the bee has gone this can still pump venom into the skin for a minute or more, so the most important thing is to remove the sting as quickly as possible. Scrape it out using a thumbnail or something like the back of a knife or the edge of a credit card. It is better not to grip it between finger and thumb or use tweezers because by doing that you may force more venom into the skin.

There is little you can do to neutralize the venom: all you can do is alleviate the symptoms it causes. An ice pack and/or an antihistamine will help reduce the swelling, and something like calamine lotion will help soothe and reduce the itching.

  1. Remove the stinger as soon as you can, because it only take a few seconds for all the venom to enter your body.
  2. Get the stinger out any way you can, such as with your fingernails or a tweezer.
  3. Wash the sting area with soap and water.
  4. Apply cold compresses or ice to relieve pain and ease swelling.

Put some vinegar on the sting, or use something cold like ice or a frozen lollipop to cool it and relieve pain. The best thing to use though is 'Anthisan' its a bite and sting cream and it relieves pain, stops it itching and doesn't become inflammed! Best thing to do! It also shrinks the sting.

To remove a bee sting make sure you do not squeeze the sting but gently flick it with a fingernail or the edge of a knife. Squeezing a singer may press more of the bee's toxin into the sting sight. You can neutralize some of the toxin with a baking soda paste or oddly (and disgustingly) enough with fresh urine.

It depends on the severity of the reaction. If you know that the person is highly allergic to bees, then they might have an EpiPen Pack on them which you basically just stick right into their upper thigh. Be sure to get the stinger out immediately, you could use a credit card to scrape it out if necessary. Apply ice, have them consider taking an antihistamine such as Benadryl. Most of the time no medical attention is necessary unless there is a severe allergic reaction, then immediate medical attention should be sought.
