Intelligence is a skill, and like any other skill you need to be interested in it and practice it. find some topic that interests you; read about it, think about it, and talk about it until you feel you understand it. then when you feel you understand it, find someone who disagrees with you and try to understand why they disagree. don't worry if you feel a bit stupid - intelligent people often feel a bit stupid, particularly when they're just starting to learn something (most people are unaware of how much they misunderstand the world, which allows them a very unjustified self-confidence).

∙ 9y agoIt's not so much being intelligent in real life, but making intelligent decisions in real life. The best way to make intelligent decisions in real life is to make those decisions based on logic and reason, not on emotions. Unfortunately, that is not easy at times.
For example, you may believe you are in love, but the relationship may be abusive or the person may not be good for you. In this situation, it's easy to make decisions based on emotions, but if you force yourself to put those emotions aside and use reason and logic, your decisions will be quite different. This is using your intelligence and the outcome in the log run will be much better for you.

∙ 11y agoTechnically, you cannot become more intelligent, because intelligence is your ability to learn, think critically, etc., and does not change. You can become smarter though.
