Call an HVAC company and have a Manual J load calculation performed on your home. I once was statiomed at Otis Airforce base in Portsmouth, Mass . Electric or gas , Maybe an oil fired boiler heat may be the best option , I would tell you that an heatpump may not be for you due to the extremely cold winters in Mass. Tom H.
