Whoa! step back for a second and think. this person is abusing you. you no longer have any responsibility to look after their welfare, the person forfeited that when they began abusing you. you should feel absolutely no responsibility for his welfare -- financial or otherwise. Get the OUT of there! Don't look back. I'm sure your partner can fend for himself/herself. but stop feeling guilty! they brought this upon themselves!

This did not stop him from beating on me, neither did the fact that I lost my job, or our apartment because of it. Actually, that all became my fault too. Blameshifting, if I didn't look at him that way, then he wouldn't have hit me, thus blackening the eye, thus taking off from work, and so on down the line of evictions and dropping restraining orders. But look check this out, my ex abuser depended on me to bring him food everyday, soap, laundry detergent, light bulbs, everything. I felt bad because he said that he gave up the security he had to be with me, and then I made him hit me there for it was all my fault. I took took buses across town everyday, and couldn't work myself, so I got money from friends and family, and however i could. You know what he did for me in return? He slept with the girl next door, later moved in with her, his brothers girl in the house he stayed in, and the 14 yr old girl around the corner. They ate the food I took to him too along with everything else I supplied him with. He got put out, and was forced to go elsewhere to live, since we had no home anymore. He went and started selling drugs, his previous occupation before me, and I was going through a nervous breakdown because of his abuse and leave routine. He got himself a wardrobe, and new life, a whole lot of new women, and I asked him to at least send me some money western union so I could get back on my feet and get a job. He said yes, but he meant no, he never sent a dime, only excuses. As responsible as I felt for him like he was a child of mine, or my husband, he felt none for me. It's been 6 months since he abandoned me, and now he is in jail busted for drugs 3 weeks ago. He had the nerve to write me asking for bail money. I told him HELL to the NO. They don't care about anyone but themselves, don't take care of him and need him later, I know you are sacrificing to take care of him. He will leave you eating his dust as soon as he charms another victim into taking care of him, while he pretends that he maintains himself and cant work for some good reason or another that he comes up with. He will drop you like a bad habit once the next one says that she sees him trying, and she will help now too, that's the end of you, they don't think about repaying you, so if you want to spend your money on a gamble or take a risk that may or may not yield a return, go and get some stocks, go to Wall Street and stay the hell off from his block!!Wiki User
