Immediately call emergency services. Heat stroke can be deadly if not treated quickly. Cool the body as rapidly as possible. If an ice bath is available, place the victim into it. If it is not available, gather rags and soak them in ice water. Place them on the forehead, back of the neck, under the arm pits, on the feet and in the groin area. Replace the rags with cool ones often. Heat stroke victims can go into full body convulsions. Treat these convulsions like a seizure, i.e. keep the victim away from other objects, keep them at ground level if possible. If someone is certified to give IV fluids, start the victim as soon as possible.

Note: If at any time a person comments that they are no longer hot after being in a heated environment for an extended period, treat it as heat stroke immediately and make the necessary calls. It cannot be stressed enough how important immediate treatment is.

Get the casualty out of the sun & gradually cooled down. Check their temperature, breathing & pulse. Have them lie very still on their side, cool them down with cool wet sheet & ring for an ambulance (get emergency professional help.)Not wise to give them water as they may be too extremely dehydrated to accept oral liquids.
