The United Nations estimates that world population will be over the 7,000,000,000 mark in 2011. Recent U.N. organized surveys performed in multiple countries have found the average percentage of people who suffer from some sort of cancer is 31%. The American Cancer Society has found similar numbers in its studies of North and South America.
Using these two sources of information. One can estimate that 2,128,243,000 individuals in the year 2010, will have some sort of cancer.

That is hard but estimates are there there are over 2 million people with cancer diagnoses right now. Unfortunately, every day , more people are diagnosed. I don't think it is more prevalent- I think it is because Medical Science is able to detect it earlier and more precisely.

∙ 13y agoThe latest year for which cancer incidence statistics are available is 2008 and this site is currently being updated with the 2008 statistics. For a short while a mix of 2007 and 2008 statistics will be presented.
Around 298,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in the UK in 2007; this equates to around 489 cases for every 100,000 people.
