What do Hindus do to communicate with their God?

The Hindus call union with God Moksha. It starts with yoga or union, but that union is only as long as a human being is alive. The ultimate union with God happens when we attain a state of realization, the unification with the Divine at death, it is called Moksha. The Buddhists call Moksha, Nirvana. It is the same but with a few different perspectives. The western world calls it Salvation that comes from enlightenment. It hardly matters whether it is a Hindu belief, the Buddhist or Western belief, the truth is that we all come from God and we have to be liberated and reunited with the Divine. That is our ultimate goal.

What is nirvina?

Nirvāna is a central concept in Indian religions. In sramanic thought, it is the state of being free from suffering . In Hindu philosophy, it is the union with the Supreme being through Moksha. The word literally means "blowing out" - referring, in the Buddhist context, to the blowing out of the fires of greed, hatred, and delusion

In Hinduism salvation cannot be given by gods but 'Karma' can gods are powerless or they simply don't care?

In Hinduism, salvation is by good deeds (karma) alone through which, we may earn god's favor. Salvation in Hinduism is to realize that he himself is Brahman, that himself and all the universe are one and the same being. Brahman in Hinduism is the supreme soul of the universe, self existent, absolute, eternal, without the beginning or the end, formless, inexpressible; both creator and all that is created. In other sense, it is the Moksha or salvation, the liberation from the cycle of re-incarnation, to be arrived at an union with Brahman. But according to Hindu scriptures, at one time, there were only Brahmans. Moksha is merely a temporary stage as the wheel of existence goes around endlessly repeating every 4.32 billion years. There is, therefore, nothing as 'Eternal Salvation ' in Hinduism. In the Bible, Salvation is by God's grace alone "...it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved." (Acts 15:11). "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith...it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8). Salvation is not only the redemption of sinners by God through Christ Jesus, but also a new life of spiritual wholeness and blessings that will result from it and will come to completion at Christ's return/second coming (Romans 5:9).
