Sales, airplay, ability to influence wider society?

When looking at regional sales of music it would be the Hip-Hop, Rap, Rock, and Country sales in America.

Latin countries are beginning to catch up with America in tastes of music. Latin style music is also changing some other already popular genres.

In European countries the majority would be Rock, Rap, Electronic, Pop, and possibly Hip-Hop.

They are relatively close to America.

The music sales can usually reflect on the amount of users listening, though there are variables so it may not reflect completely accurately.

It really depends on the age group. Mainstream pop music is probably the thing people listen to the most, (sadly) with artists like One Direction and Selena Gomez.

Jazz and rock music aren't all that popular anymore, butnew sub-categories likerock-punk and punk-rock-pop area littlemore popular.Country Music is increasing in popularity thanks to artists like Taylor Swift and Mumford and Sons. Dance music is also increasing in popularity, due to Calvin Harris and David Guetta. Rap music's so-so. People still like Eminem.

But popular music is still the most....well, popular!

well, for me....today's music is kind of like R&B. Some examples are like Drake, Lil Wayne, Pitbull, New Boys, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Usher. People these days also listen to pop, country, and rock.
