I did an experiment with Dwarf sunflowers using tap water, rain water, distilled water, vinegar water, salt water, and sugar water. In this experiment the only 3 waters that did not grow the plants were vinegar, salt, ans sugar waters. I'm not certain these results will be correct every time but it is possible that plants grow better with regular water instead of sugar.

well i conducted this experiment and my cut plants (flowers) with sugar died out first and the ones with water lasted longer than those with sugar. :).... belle singh

∙ 12y agoactually most plant likes water some dies by sugar water. Such as flower and Venus-flytrap they drink sugar water and more other plant drink that too. Venus-flytrao doesnt care where it is planted or what water they drink they also like bug for the Venus-flytrap. regular plant drink regular water not like you have a sugar water hose.

∙ 14y agoit helps the plant grow. you cant put too much sugar because then the plant cant absorb the water. plants naturally produce sugar in their cells, so sugar will help
