My German Shepherd likes to eat high quality food that is high in meat content and low in grain. You may be able to get this in super markets but may have better luck in pet stores. Some owners like to feed a mix of dry and wet food to add variety to the diet and to keep the dog from getting bored.

They basicly eat what other dogs eat. They are carnivores just like all of the other dogs and will eat almost anything. They love meat. Don't give them cheese and dairy because that is very bad for them. Chocolate is also bad. Too much can be deadly, but that ammount is a king size hershy's bar. Dont worry if they get hold of a chocolate chip cookie. They might get a bit sick, but it wont kill them. regular dog food has enough nuitrients for any dog. make sure to ask a vet what a greman Shepard needs in its diet. Then find a dog food that has tat amount of everything. that should keep your dog healthy along with pleanty of exersize and water. If they start to cough don't worry just give them rest and lots of attention.

You shouldn't feed German Shepard dogs very much "People food" because they have sensitive stomachs. However, German Shepard dogs are generally very picky eaters and will sometimes choose certain brands of dog food over others. My sister has a half German, half Belgian Shepard dog and she will not eat her dog food if she sees, or smells something better. Does that help?
