Did it look like a possum from behind? With a big bulbous dome of a body? Did it have a waddle? My coworker "saw one" at school. Although we have not discovered the elusive bird's identity as of yet, we continue. Merely the fact that there is one more believer out there gives us hope.

Most likely it is the dark-eyed junco. They are also called snow birds and are a frequent visitor to bird feeders.
