nothing really...barred from it all

That's so small minded! To whom ever would like to know the Construction Field is non-discriminatory although they do catter to a prodominety white class their is no law that states if your a minority or felon you can't work in that field !!! I'm a young black women 5 *Felon and am very succesful!!!!
I have 4 felony convictions and have a CDL. It may not be easy to find work, but you can most certainly get a CDL. Depending on the type conviction and date, you may not pass TSA/Homeland Security for HazMat and TWIC credentials (something I have also recieved despite being a felon), but you can still get a CDL.

(It depends on what state or country you live in, so please check with local law enforcement in your area.)

You can get a career in entertainment or music with most felonies. If it is not murder or a sexual offense you can usually get a job at a bar or restaurant. You can't get any job working with kids or in a nursing home with most felonies.

That would vary depending upon the particular state, as well, the crime that was committed. Easiest way would be to do a search by state and crime for which one was convicted, however, keep in mind that convicted felons are limited in employment regardless of the crime because the majority will not hire based on that fact alone.
