it is most likely your evap canistor and/or valve. its located next to the gas tank and is usually the problem. other reasons could be leak in the evap lines (unlikely because this throws a p0442 code) or the gas cap (which you can look at and see if there are any cracks in the seal). in the case on my 07 silverado 1500 classic it was the valve which costs me $36 in parts, 45 minutes of labor, and 3 hours of research. the part number for mine is 25932571. make sure it is compatible with your truck for i am 90% sure it will be the same.
