When a current flow on a conductor , or load or resistor, some voltage will drop across that load or resistor.

Answer

A voltage drop is the potential difference appearing across individual components in a circuit, necessary to drive current through those components. The sum of the individual voltage drops around a series circuit will equal the supply voltage applied to that circuit.

Voltage x current. In a resistor for example it is the voltage drop across it that is relevant, it may be part of a circuit.

What is the percentage voltage drop for feeders?

In the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) voltage drop for feeders is stated in rule 8-102. Voltage drop in an installation shall not exceed 3% in a feeder or branch circuit. This percentage may differ in the NEC (National Electrical Code).

What is the voltage drop using?

Voltage drop is caused by circuit resistance

What is the voltage drop running through the parallel potion of the circuit?

A: There is no voltage drop running through in a parallel circuit but rather the voltage drop across each branch of a parallel circuit is the same

What is Voltage rise?

Voltage Rise : The energy added to a circuit. Voltage drop: The energy removed from the circuit.

The resistor in an R-L series circuit has a voltage drop of 53V and the inductor has a voltage drop of 28V what is the applied voltage of the circuit?

The applied voltage is 53+28 = 81V.

Why does voltage matter?

Voltage is a measure of electrical potential. I understood voltage best when my first semester Electronics professor told the class that voltage is to an electrical circuit as water pressure is to a plumbing "circuit".

How do you calculate electrical power?
