38 special is only a revolver caliber. that's like saying a 44 magnum revolver or a 500 special revolver. a revolver is a revolver
This is a very popular revolver, and holsters should be easy to find. Most gun shops will carry these, along with sporting goods departments at WalMart, Cabellas, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro Shop, etc, etc. You can also shop on line- search for holsters. Key elements are Smith & Wesson, Model 10, 4 inch. Synthetic materials are usually a lot cheaper than leather, and are kinder to the finish on a blued gun- leather can cause rust.
It depends on what you mean. A .38 revolver may be a .38 special, but there are other types of .38 besides just the special round.
