By "value", I'm assuming the "worth" based on its price. That would depend on what the seller is selling it for and your interest of the instrument. If it is used, it is in good condition, sounds great and you have a genuine interest in the guitar, then the "value" of the instrument to you is medium to high regardless of the price. If it is in poor condition and looks like it has been in a bar brawl, sounds terrible yet it is going very cheap, then the value is low, unless you still have a decent interest in the item and you plan to refurbish it... then the value becomes medium to high for you again.

Value and worth are respective of the interest to you, but keep in mind that if you are after a first guitar, then something cheap and nasty may make you lose interest as you learn. A good mid-range price for a used acoustic-Electric Guitar (based on the brand) should be at least a quarter to half the original price... unless it is near new, well looked after or custom modified. Keep these things in mind.

When was the first electric guitar constructed?

The electric guitar was first used by jazz guitarists, who used amplified hollow-bodied instruments to get a louder sound in Swing-era big bands. While one of the first solid-body guitars was invented by Les Paul, the first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar was the Fender Esquire (1950).
