One option is to start at your home county community college where you can get a good foundation before applying to the four year colleges and universities. It will be less expensive, easy to get into, smaller class room size, and better student to professor ratio. You can finish your associates degree there and then transfer, or you can transfer after you completed a good solid two semesters. Make sure you are in a transfer program. In this way your credits will transfer to the four year institution and be applied toward your bachelor's degree in social work (BSW), which is the minimum requirement for entry level as a social worker
