oil pressure switch or knock sensor
On my 350ci chevy, it is above/beside the starter on the engine block. BE CAREFUL or you will get a face full of antifreeze!
Passenger side of block just above the starter
On 3.1L Engines it is on the front of the engine above the starter mounted in the engine block. On 2.2L engines it is above the oil filter mounted in the engine block.
Right above the starter .
The crankshaft position sensor is located right above the starter, you may have to remove the starter for better visibility.
Remove starter and sensor will be just above it.
Right above the starter, but you'll have to first drop the starter to get access to the CPSensor. my son in law has a 99 suburban 5.7 and the crank sensor is located on the passenger side of engine at the front by the timing chain cover.
It is located on the main bearings in the crankcase NEW ANSWER: The above answer is WRONG. The crank sensor is mounted in the side of the engine block BEHIND the STARTER. You MUST remove the starter to get to it.
It should be above the starter on the engine block.
What year, and application? NEW ANSWER: That would be the knock sensor,
It's easy its just above the starter remove the starter with 1/2" socket your crank sensor is right there one 10mm socket
It is the knock sensor. It retards the timing if the engine pings or rattels.
