Over the centuries, original sin has been one of the principal justifications for infant baptism, since those who have been baptised were said to be free of original sin and thus able to enter heaven if they are not guilty of unrepented mortal sins.
Cardinal George Pell recently stated that the story of Adam and Eve is a myth, describing it as a religious story told for religious purposes. Without their existence, it will be hard to sustain the belief that Christians are born with original sin as a consequence of the sin of Adam and Eve, or that without baptism all are condemned to hell. It is too early to predict that the Church will soon abandon the doctrine of original sin, yet Adam and Eve can no longer be blamed for original sin that Christian tradition said that we all bear.
The original sin was Adam and Eve eating the fruit that God told them not to eat. But more than that original sin is the Christian teaching that the propensity and desire to sin was passed down to humanity, and that everyone as soon as they are capable of moral choice, willingly choose to sin. The doctrine of original sin also tells us that all people have rebelled against God and that apart from Jesus, everyone is deserving of eternal separation from God (Hell).
your original sin- handed down from Adam and eve in the garden of eden when eve was tempted by Satan to eat from the tree of knowledge. when the Lord God found out he banished them from the garden and telling them what the consequences were.when we are baptized God forgave us of that sin which would have kept us out of paradise and left us in a state of limbo. so when we are baptized we became children of God and can gain entry into heaven if we sin no more
The bible is very clear and repetitive about portraying our relationship with God as he is our father, and we are his children. Parents of course want to give their children good things, even though we are imperfect and prone to sin. God, however, is perfect and without sin - how much more, then, would he want to give us good things (i.e. Gifts) than a human father.
original sin
Jesus was the one who helped God - to save us from sin.
Yes....If he repents of his sin and turns to God asking forgiveness, He will forgive him. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. No sin is anymore grievous to God, than another. Sin is sin in God's eyes, all must be dealt with through repentance.
Sin is the disobedience and rejection of God. Humanity inherits sin through the disobedience of the first man who disobeyed a direct command of God. This original sin resulted in a separation from God. As inheritors of this original sin, the only way for the power of sin in us to be broken and a reunion with God is through the saving grace available through a belief in the Lord Jesus Christ- the only mediator and advocate between us and God. Heaven in full communion with God, sin is a full rejection of God. all the laws given (the "thou shalts and thou shalt nots") are a reminder of the consequences of sin and are myriad in numbers. To simplify things, Christ condensed the "laws" into 2 key elements. Love God completely (reunite with God) and Love others as you would love yourself. From this it can be seen that, even though one may obey all of the laws of the land, one can still sin.
Natural revelation alone is insufficient for us to know God fully because historical conditions and the consequences of Original Sin often diminish our ability to fully know God's truth. This is why Divine Revelation is needed.
He didn't God held Eve responsible for her sin of listening to Satan and she was judged. God held Adam responsible for his sin of listening to the woman and He and all of us were judged. God held Satan resonsible for His sin of deception and he was judged,
God is without conscience. He made us with one because we are sinful. God does not sin and doesn't have the potential to sin. God doesn't have a conscience because he doesn't sin so he doesn't feel guilt. Our conscience is what make us feel guilty about something we did bad. Hope that helps you out.
Original Sin is our state after the Fall, although we are all victims of Original Sin, there is no such thing as Natural Humanity because of Prevenient Grace, which is the work of the Holy Spirit that gives us the gracious ability to be able to choose between good and evil. According to Wesley, salvation from original sin begins with justification, the actual turn towards God. Justification restores us to God's favor, removes the guilt of sin, through the work of Christ on the cross and our acceptance of this. We are regenerated from sinners to saints, we are restored to God's image. This is also known as the Forgiveness and the New Birth. Sanctification is the continuation of Regeneration, this is the life long process of growing in grace and in Christian perfection. We can still sin after becoming a believer, sin remains but no longer reigns.
Sin and death is a direct result of Adam and Eve choosing to disobey God..they being our original "parents" they have passed this flaw on to us. The way out from sin was made possible by means of God sacrificing his only son..Jesus..as an equivalent to cancel out Adams sin. This allows us to pray for our sins to be forgiven.
