Go to the sink, get a glass of water, pour it in the pool, repeat. Just kidding. The traditional method for filling an in-ground pool is a garden hose. Most pools have a "filler", but it usually is just to keep the level up, and has a float valve that would take days to fill the pool. A few pools have an actual built in valve like a water hose. The valve handle is usually under a cover a few feet from the pool, or by the filter. Whatever is used, the water will be as cold as water from your faucet ever gets, which is far too cold for swimming. You may have to wait a couple of days for the pool to warm up unless you have a pool heater.

if you have ever vaccuumed your pool you already know how to do it. all you do is not return the cleaned water to the pool. you will need access to some kind of drainage though, as that's alot of water!

We always filled ours with a garden hose and it took forever. You can have a water truck fill it up, but that costs money. We filled it until the water was half way up the skimmer hole. Good luck.

make sure the hot tub is fully drained. plug the hot tub and start filling the tub with a hose. it works best to use one eighth antifreeze but make sure you mix it with the water. the water level should be right above your highest jet.

The above answer is not to be taken seriously. Never put antifreeze in a hot tub. (why would you anyway since the water is heated). To find out how to correctly fill a hot tub see the website below.

If you have a sand filter just back wash until the water level is where you want it. If you have a cartridge filter take the top of the cartridge and start it up if the setup of the equipment allows it. If there is no other way of getting water out get a submersible pump. You just throw these in the water and they will pump out as much water as you like. I personally don't have a problem with this as I use a suction side floating pool skimmer so the level of the water doesn't make any difference. As a matter of fact I like to see the water in the pool build up because it saves me water and as I have a salt water pool I would rather throw out as little water as possible as that wastes salt.

Put a submersible pump in it If you dont have one they are always available from tool and plant hire shops.

ANSWER

Most pools are already equipped with pumps. Don't waste your money on another one. Just set it to pull from the main drain only, and set the spider valve to waste.

Is it wrong to drain your plaster pool when the temperature is above 100?

Why would you drain your pool just becasue the water is hot? Never drain your inground pool unless you have first cut holes in the bottom of the pool to keep it from floating. If the water table in your area is high enough, your inground pool could "float" out of the ground, effectively ruining your pool.

If you have an inground gunite pool that was drained using the pump why can't you develop suction to drain it out now that there is only a bit in the bottom?

Most electric pumps have a guard at the bottom to prevent leaves and such from getting into the pump. Unfortunately, you need to have usually about 1/2" to 1" of water in the pool for the pump to work. I would suggest trying to drain the remaining water with a hose.

Do you have to support the walls of your inground pool if you drain out all of the water?

NO however you should keep in mind that the ground water outside of the pool is not going to put pressure on it as this is capable of even lifting a concrete pool out of the ground.

Should you drain the water when swimming pool is not in use?

No, then you have to refill it and that is a waste of water If it is an inground pool being dry will ruin the pool surface and in high water table areas the risk of turning it into a boat is very real.
