Historically, the oldest city within the United States that we know of is Cahokia, Illinois, founded in 600 A.D.
The oldest continuously inhabited city in the 50 States is Saint Augustine, Florida, founded in 1565.
If you include all US territories, then the city of San Juan in Puerto Rico would be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States, founded in 1521.
