Alcohol. It is a CNS (central nervous system) depressant. this is a guess on what is the most used - but it seems like a logical one. THC (marijuana) is not technically a CNS …depressent - and i bet alcohol is still used more often. Though both chemicals have effects on the GABA system

Probably alcohol. Alcohol is the most widely-used drug everywhere in the world, so, I would assume it is also the most widely-abused drug. Since it is legal, it is the easie…st drug to procure. In order to buy illegal drugs, like marijuana, cocaine, speed, Ecstasy, heroin, etc., you have to know people. You have to have connections, in order to be given the phone number of a drug dealer. Whereas, to buy alcohol, you just have to go to the nearest liquor store.
