Actually, the site of the Continental Congress that met in Philadephia. They keep the site with original furnishings. The Liberty Bell is most famous, but rather uninteresting-- e.g. it is a bell, it sits there, it has a crack but the crack was NOT made during the ringing but when moving it. Valley Forge is a popular area especially for Civil War buffs, but there are many other famous places that have nothing to do with war.

You may be referring to an iconic 1915 photograph of Thomas Edison, with his hand placed over the crack in the bell, as if he is trying to hold the bell together.
