The mood is clueless (as they don't know who is going to be the victim this time..and they certainly don't want themselves to be it) fear(as i said that they don't want themselves to be the victim) hesitation(as they come up to the black box and when they open their piece of papers) anger(old man Warner shows some anger) tension is the same as hesitation

Joe is trying to keep it all calm. Despicable. Relief (for some people at the end).

When Tessie forgets what day it is she laughs it out as if making it a joke...so she is trying to stay calm and casual, but you soon find out that she shouldn't,

the mood of this short story is sarcastic/ironic because the protagonist's been assuming him winning the lottery which he actually does not.....
