The mixing ratio using Stihl brand oil is 50:1 or 2.6 oz. oil per gallon of gas. Stilhl oil is recommended though a name brand oil for another air-cooled equipment brand could be substituted. Most are the same ratio.

Once they changed the model#'s they changed them to: MS260, MS440, MS460 etc.... Saws are still the same MS means: "Motor schlagen" or in German "Chainsaw" There IS A DIFFERENCE! the newer models that use the reversed numbers of the old Models (026 = 260 for examples) have the EPA carburators. This makes for a slightly less powerful/efficient saw.
