There is no simple answer to that. There are a lot of database applications and they would use different sizes. Older versions of the same software would use shorter amounts and future versions will further extend them. They allow hundreds, even thousands of characters. As a general rule though, when entering data into a text field in a database, it should be as specific and simple as possible and so not take up too much space. That will make the data easier to work with.
Data is facts and statistics collected for reference and/or analysis. Data can be numbers, text, addresses, etc. Here is an example of data: Plant 1: 5 cm Plant 2: 3 cm Plant 3: 8 cm

ETL stands for Extract-Transform-Load and it is a process of how data is loaded from the source system to the data warehouse. Data is extracted from an OLTP database, transformed to match the data warehouse schema and loaded into the data warehouse database. Many data warehouses also incorporate data from non-OLTP systems such as text files, legacy systems and spreadsheets. Conventional testing is a sort of testing in which the test engineers will check the developed application or its related parts are working accordingly to the expectations of customer or not, from coding phase of SDLC to the end

The field length determines two things: how much space the field takes up in storage and how much data the field can hold. For example, a text field's length would indicate the maximum number of characters the field could hold and the corresponding amount of storage each field uses. Some field types (like date and boolean fields) have set field lengths that need not be specified.
A text data type field can store alphanumeric characters, such as letters, numbers, and special symbols. It is suitable for storing large amounts of text data, such as descriptions, comments, or notes. Text data types can hold variable lengths of text, depending on the database system used.
