Speaking mathematically, mean is a manner in which one can manipulate numbers for analysis. This is also done with median, mode, and range. The mean is the average of a group of numbers. You can discover it by adding all numbers in a group and dividing by the total count of numbers in the group. for instance:

These totaled equal 84.

There are nine numbers in the group, and 84/9=9.333 or 9 1/3.

You'll notice that the mean does not appear in the list of numbers. This is not uncommon.
