it is ice chest
The answer is quite obvious..a burnt part of the skin would be hot so when you apply ice it cools it down, common sense really.
Ice is a natural and free pain reief. If you have a sore joint, apply a cold pack or ice wrapped in a good cloth. Put it on for up to 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Never apply ice directly to the skin.
"Ice is what works on a burn. It is the best thing and you can't get frostbite from an ice cube or a small bag of ice." This answer is wrong. Ice burns, however small (even ice cubes). Putting ice on a burn can cause more damage. Cool running water is the best treatment for a burn, and if severe will need medical attention.
Elevate the foot so that the swollen ankle is at a higher level than the heart. You can also apply a bag of ice buffered by a towel. Never keep ice directly in contact with the skin for an extended period of time, or frostbite damage can occur.
A metal bowl keeps ice cream frozen the longest.
Ice in water, because sugar and salt both increase ice's melting point so it melts faster. The mixture without the solute (which is ice in water) keeps the ice solid for the longest time and therefore the mixture does not lose heat very fast and stays the colest for the longest amount of time.In addition:Actually it DECREASES the melting point of H2O, causing it to melt at a LOWER temperature. And it does not melt FASTER, so much as it melts SOONER (ie. at a lower temperature)
the longest holiday is ice age cause no one study
Yes that can give relief. however if you are using ice for example contain it in a towel or something in order to protect the skin
For third degree and electrical burns(charred/burned skin), you call 911. Then you cover the burn with a sterile bandage. DO NOT apply ointments, gels, or creams. DO NOT run under water or apply ice. DO NOT attempt to remove the clothing from affected area.
You don't exactly get burned, your skin freezes. Dry ice is verrry cold and coming in contact with is for even a short time freezes the skin. This kills skin cells in much the same way as burning does
