Dogs and cats are the most favorite pets of the general population so vets are always needed. In today's stressful lifestyle more and more people are dog/cat owners because pets give them pleasure and comfort. With the Baby Boomers coming up hot and heavy there will be many more pets that will need veterinary care. It is said, 'The more one gets to know humans the more they like their pets.' This simply means we live in a world of liars, cheats, backstabbers, money orientated persons that self-centered and selfish and what is nicer than coming home to one's pet who loves you for who you are and doesn't ask anything from you, but love and kindness. They are your faithful friend to the end of their life or yours. A licensed vet can start up their own practice (have a clinic in their own home or an office in a mall or in a building.) They have the right to advertise and once they buildup a clientele they will eventually need another vet to come in and take on the overload. My own vet (female) just did this. A good vet always wants to give the best care to each animal that comes into their clinic and therefore when they can't handle the overload they search for another vet to share their practice (just like some human's doctors.)
