When you think of archeology, you envision people with chisels and brushes digging through sand or other types of platforms to unearth secrets of lost civilizations. Here In Pinal county it is important because we have found Native Tribes and there pottery.

Archeology in Pinal County is very important. We need to know about past life and resources. We need to know about out ancestors and our past History. Archeology is not only important here but everywhere! When you see archeologists digging you think why are they digging in the ground? It's not just digging in the ground its History before our eyes. Pinal County has found pottery and jewels and even skeleton bones.

Pinal County has a rich Native American history from long ago, the ancient desert people like us able to live in the desert by harmony with nature and using its resources. This culture can be traced back hundreds maybe even thousands of years ago. For some people who don't fully understand why these cultures just disappeared while some other people have evolved to the communities of the Native American today.

For hundreds of years they flourished in the arid lands now part of Arizona. They built extensive waterworks, ball courts, and platform mounds, made beautiful jewelry and pottery, and grew into large trade networks.
