Theodore Roosevelt was on a hunt and there was a bear. Theodore saved the bear's life by telling his companions not to shoot at it. Then someone made the first stuffed bear and named it Teddy, short for Theodore. That is how the "Teddy Bear" came into origin.
Theodore Roosevelt was on a bear hunt and determined to find a bear to hunt down in 1902. After 3 days of searching he hadn't found one and others started to help him find one as he would not walk away unaccomplished. When a guide finally found a bear they had dogs attack it and tied it to a tree. When Roosevelt was called to the tree he refused to shoot the bear. It was too old weak, and innocent and he would never be able to live with himself if he shot such a helpless bear. Soon after Clifford Berryman drew a cartoon about the story. A few days later another cartoon appeared in the papers and gave Morries Michton took two stuffed bears his wife made and sold them in his shop. He asked permission of Theodore Roosevelt to name it a "teddy bear." And that's how the teddy bear was invented.
