Coelom is a cavity that develops during embryonic development of animals. The cavity develops from tissue derived from the mesoderm germ layer. The fluid-filled cavity (coelom), cushions the internal organs and allows for their expansion and contraction.
A coelom is a fluid filled cavity within the mesoderm, it can be seen as the digestive track of an earthworm. Coelomic fluids assist in locomotion and regulation of fluid transfer through the body wall. It can also serve as a temporary food storage, excretion of nitrogen-containing wastes and for maturation of gametes.
Coelom provides space for different organs like heart, lungs, kidneys etc., Presence of coelom also gives flexibility of the body so that animal can move in direction freely. Depending upon type of coelom present, the animals are divided into three groups
1. Acoelomates Eg: Platyhelminthes- Here the body cavity is filled with mesenchyme, hence do free movement. The body stays rigid.
2. Pseudocoelomates Eg: Nematyhelminthes (Round worms)
3. Eucoelomates
The Eucoelomates are further divided into two groups Schizocoelomates and Enterocoleomate.
Schizocoelomates - Eg: Annelida, Arthropoda and Mollusca
Enterocoelomates - Eg: Echinodermata, Hemichordata and Chordata
The intestines help carry the earthworm's waste to the anus, where it is expelled from the worm.

The function of an earthworm's nephridium is to excrete wastes from the earthworm's body.
No,it has a hydrostatic skeleton. It emerges due to pressure caused by fluids in the coelom.
The structures of a flatworm and a earthworm are different by the way the are shaped. The earthworm is the one that looks like a regular worm it is more rounded and a flatworm looks like leeches.
it acts as a heart for an earthworm.... <3
the brain is essential for the movement of the earthworm. If the brain of the earthworm is removed, the earthworm will move continuously without stop

The coelom of an earthworm is its body cavity. There are three categories for grouping animals according to their coeloms: coelomate (animals that have a true coelom lined by muscle tissue on both sides), pseudocoelomate (animals that have a coelom line by muscle tissue only on one side), and acoelomates (animals that do not have a body cavity lined by muscle tissue on either side). Earthworms are coelomate animals.
