What is the fastest 4 cylinder car?
A '99 Eclipse GSX owned and driven by Brent Rau is the fastest 4 cylinder in the world in the 1/4 mile. It has run a 6.97@198mph. It has a 2 liter engine. As far as I know the fastest 4 cylinder car is a 1991 Eagle Talon TSI owned by John Shepherd with a 1/4 mile time of 7.70 secs @ 191.32 MPH. Acording to Hot VWs national racing records 4 cylinder A class dragster driven by Kris Lauffer truned in a 1/4 mile time of 6.60 sec in Sept '03 and a top speed of 203.98 mph in Oct '03

The brakes are powerful, bringing the vehicle from its top speed to a standstill complete stop in very short distances (unlike other sports cars).

the lotus exige 260s is the fastest non turbo 4 cylinder car...it will spring to 60 in 4 seconds flat, run the qtr n 12.7 seconds, and top out at 155... It is not turbocharged…, but does have a supercharger...the fastest normially aspirated four cylnder is likely the Honda s2000 which is now out of production whch had 237hp and a top speed of 155.
4 cylinder means that the engine has 4 pistons it means it has 4 pistons. the number of pistons can tell you how much speed and how much power

its not, most 6 cylnder cars are rear wheel drive, to im improve handling, take a look at the old BMW 5 series m sport, as far as i know the most powerfull and fastest car of …its time.

NA-It has to be the Lingenfelter Z06-700+hp 226mph

"Yes, they are if you want to save gas. But some people don't like it given the fact that they don't have much power." 4-cylinder engines respond quite well to forced induct…ion systems. A turbocharged 2.0 can make as much or more power than a naturally aspirated engine of more than double the size while still being very fuel efficient (if you can stand to drive like your grandmother.) Of course the power bands are quite different. In lager engines power is present mostly at lower engine speeds and tend to decline rapidly at higher RPMs. Turbochargers take time to build boost pressure or "spool up" thus their power is created at higher engine speeds and can continue to gain power until redline and beyond. 4-cylinder engines, which are smaller and weigh less, are capable of running at much higher engine speeds than larger engines. They have a large enough RPM range to be able to make up for "turbo-lag" (the sluggish, low RPM range before the turbo pressurizes and starts making power) and take advantage of the maximum turbo pressure for longer amounts of time per gear. And, if you drive it easy-like and don't allow the turbo to spool much you will still retain the excellent gas mileage of a smaller displacement engine.
