When used in a non-hate-based fashion, racialism is used to define policy or interpret events. Kind of like colonialism. Not all colonialism consisted of things that were detrimental to the people involved.

Racialism refers to the belief that humanity is divided into distinct races with inherent differences in traits or abilities. Racism, on the other hand, involves the belief that one race is superior to others and the discrimination or prejudice against people based on their race. Racialism is more focused on categorizing people based on race, while racism involves the power dynamics and discriminatory actions associated with those categorizations.

How did slavery become linked with racism?

Slavery became linked with racism through the process of racialization, where African people were systematically dehumanized and categorized as inferior based on their race. This served to justify their enslavement and perpetuate a system of racial hierarchy. Over time, ideas of inherent racial differences and white superiority became deeply ingrained in society, solidifying the association between slavery and racism.

How do you write a six page essay on racism?

It would depend to a degree on context: a good start would be to define racism in the introduction since the word has so many meanings and connotations these days (as the recent so-called UN "conference" on Racism showed). Is the essay about racism today, or 2 centuries ago? Is religion included (since "Islamophobia" is being touted as a form of racism, lately)? You would need to define racism clearly from the start and keep the body of the essay within the frame work initially outlined, not drifting into areas such as "racialism" which to many people is a different concept.
