Yes. Molecular Biology has to do with organic molecules (such as DNA, proteins, carbohydrates, sugars, etc) and microbiology has to do with microscopic life (anything you can see under a microscope).

Medical microbiology focuses on those microbes that cause diseases.

Applied microbiology is more focused on using microbes to solve industrial needs such as breakdown of oil spills or beer, wine or cheese production, or certain chemical reactions.
