Threatened animals are ones that are legally listed as susceptible to becoming endangered - the animals are becoming more rare because of attributable factors determined by scientific studies. Species of concern is a species that may sometime in the future become threatened but that requires more study.

They are species, populations and ecological communities that are considered by the NSW Scientific Committee to be at risk of extinction in the immediate to medium-term future in NSW. Together this information is described as 'threatened'.

∙ 11y agoEndangered species are in danger. Protected species are being protected. Turtels are never in danger because they have a hard ball on their back and they are protected. Humans are in danger because we don't have a shell and we are soft.
