Is there a difference between English Labrador retriever breed standards and American Labrador retriever breed standards?

American labradors have a more sleek body frame, whereas English labs have more of a squared body. Their heads are much more square and their shoulders are much wider. The American lab has a longer, thinner snout.

In terms of Disposition, the American labs tend to be a bit more hyper, and the English labs are much calmer. The only problem with the English lab is that they tend to be heavier in stature than the American labs.

actually i have an American breed labrador and lets just say he isn't running on all 4 cylinders. he is very tall and muscular....he is a happy dog with a kind personality. English breeds are generally calmer and shorter!

The difference between the two are the shape of their face and the size of their snout. my friend has an American and i have an English and they are both yellow but if you look at them side by side then you can tell the difference. An American has a longer snout and an English has a fatter head.

I personally think the English one is much more cute. it also seems to be clamer and cares more for affection than treats or meat unlike the American ones I've met.
