∙ 9y agoThe difference between "a cappella" and "ballad" is this: the first term means "as in (or, of) the chapel" because it refers to a style of singing, namely, singing without musical accompaniment. The second term refers to a kind of narration, namely, a story that is spoken or sung. Thus one may perform an "a cappella ballad", which would be a story told through singing -- without musical accompaniment.
