I used to be healthy, I was never concerned about my weight, I never even gave a second thought over what I should and shouldn't be eating, and I was five stone and that was bang on for me as I was 4ft5" but then just before my birthday(march) everyone around me were dieting, trying to lose those 'unnessary pounds' and I started to look at myself in a different light, I decided maybe I was a bit too big for my height, I started off with just dieting, I started with the special k diet, then moved onto a juice fast, and then two weeks later decided I was strong enough to cut everything altogether, I lasted on just plain water for two weeks, no food or anything else, and it felt good, everyone were saying how good and SKINNY I looked, and my parents(who had always totally blanked me, they made me feel invisible) were worried about me, they finally realised I was there, and I liked their concern, it was better than not being noticed! But now I'm bulimic and have been since September last year, I'm at the heaviest I've ever been, I hate myself, I try and starve myself, I'm 7Stone 3lbs! I have grown 5" though! But I've tried getting rid of my bulimia but it just keeps coming back, so I'm gonna carry on trying to not eat until I lose everything, but I DO NOT recommend bulimia to anyone! It makes you hate your body, and messes with your head, don't do it.

Bulimia is not a condition that can be "cured." A bulimic can, with treatment and support, live "in recovery." That means that you live by certain principles and a highly-structured life. You take each day, one at a time and make living in recovery the main focus of each day. You check in and work with other bulimics who help each other through the rough spots and keep open lines of communications so things in your life don't get too far out of hand.
