Teleology is a study of the concept that things have purpose. The word comes from a Greek word meaning a study of end, purpose.
It concerns itself with evidence of design in nature, and takes the view that everything in nature has a purpose, i.e. that nature is not an accident but the result of the actions by an intelligent cause, and that life, and nature, was created on purpose, for a purpose or with certain objectives in view.
Teleology is nothing to do with watching television.
However, when you do watch television, you might wonder sometimes... Did this television get here by accident, or did someone make it for a purpose?

Entelechy is similar, the idea of self-fulfillment, striving for some sort of completion or realization/actualization. So, for ontology, the question of, "What is real? What is reality composed out of?" it gives everything a purpose for being in a state of existence.
